Black Eyed Peas reveal the second North American leg of their The E.N.D. jaunt, Hot Chip add some April dates to their One Life Stand tour and Melvins plan to hit the road this June in support of their upcoming album, The Bride Screamed Murder. Full details for all three treks, below.

Last week RS talked up Gorillaz’s Plastic Beach in New Reviews, so today we’re spotlighting Breaking band Broken Bells, a collaboration between the Shins’ James Mercer and Demon Days producer Danger Mouse. The pairing might seem like a strange match, but as Will Hermes writes in his four-star review of Broken Bells, “It turns out the two pop-science geeks are a perfect match. Danger Mouse pushes Mercer’s gorgeous, existential tunecraft outward with Day-Glo dynamics.” Mercer’s lyrics are at their loneliest while Danger Mouse brings beats that sound like “hip-hop for turned-on shut-ins.” The best tracks here at first single “The High Road” and the bouncy “Vaporize.”
Next week when hundreds of bands head to Texas for the annual South By Southwest Music Festival, Rolling Stone will be on the ground in Austin bringing you incredible photos, interviews, our first-ever SXSW showcases and a special treat: 100 tweeted show reviews @RollingStone by contributor Christopher R. Weingarten, who recently completed his 1000TimesYes project — 1,000 140-character album reviews in a year.

As hordes of actors attempt to stave off aging, we watch on, amused. It’s hard not to laugh or snicker when a person who has clearly had plastic surgery claims that their face is natural. They might as well claim to be a relative of Stretch Armstrong, trying to feed us bull that their skin doesn’t fall and change no matter how old they get, that their chin was always that shape, their lips always that puffy, their eyebrows always that arched.

We wait for the Academy Awards patiently every year, dying to see what catwalk confections our favorite stars will wear. And this year, our patience was amply rewarded with gorgeous gowns, sparkling jewels and perfect updos. Ruffles ruled from Demi Moore’s Atelier Versace to Jennifer Lopez’s Armani Prive to Vera Farmiga’s Marchesa. And forget about black — it was all about golds like Cameron Diaz’s Oscar de la Renta and Sandra Bullock’s Marchesa and blues like Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Dries van Noten. As for hair, it was the year of the bun, perched perfectly on the glam heads of Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Richie and Miley Cyrus. Check out our picks for Best Dressed and then tell us: Who was your favorite at the Oscars?

If Sandra Bullock beats Meryl Streep to win the Academy Award for Best Actress tonight, she’ll make history, because in addition to being nominated for Oscar honors for her turn in the football drama The Blind Side, she also earned a nomination — from the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation — for Worst Actress of the year for starring in the abysmally-received comedy All About Steve. Last night in Hollywood, the classy actress actually showed up to receive her Razzie award, and she came bearing gifts.

His exact age is unknown, but he was in his forties. “It is with great sadness that we share the news that our dear friend and family member, Mark Linkous, took his own life today,” reads a statement from his family. “We are thankful for his time with us and will hold him forever in our hearts. In this week’s Flashback, we present not one but two fantastically lip-synched performances by one of the most underrated bands of the ’80s, Talk Talk. With all the reunions revving up, from Public Image Ltd. to Faith No More to Devo, we keep hoping that Mark Hollis and crew will get back together for the first time since 1991’s Laughing Stock, but with Hollis gone underground in recent years, it seems unlikely. Up top is Talk Talk’s mouthed performance of “Life What’s You Make It” from a 1986 Top of the Pops, while after the jump we have Talk Talk’s last television appearance, a lip-synched, edited version of the Spirit of Eden classic “I Believe in You.” And to the festival that somehow coaxes these guys out of retirement, consider us your first ticket buyers.

Snoop Dogg’s attempts to reenter the United Kingdom have been rebuffed for the last four years after the Doggystyle rapper was essentially banned from the country following an airport fight in 2006. However, immigration judges in the U.K. have ruled that border guards acted unfairly when they detained the Doggfather and will allow the rapper to re-apply for a tour visa. There’s no guarantee he’ll be approved, however, the BBC reports.
